Winter & Co.

Julius Winter bought the Bronx piano maker Heller & Co. in 1901 and renamed it Winter & Co., opening a factory on Southern Boulevard in 1903. It made player pianos and was an early maker of small spinet pianos from the 1930s, and bought the Cable Company of Chicago in 1943. In 1959-1960 it merged with Aeolian-American to form the Aeolian Corporation, which kept the Winter name.
