Kranich & Bach

Kranich & Bach was a New York piano maker established in 1864 by Helmuth Kranich, a former Steinway worker, and Jacques Bach. It built well-made uprights and grands, including small 'Grandette' models, and claimed about 25,000 pianos sold by 1891. The firm later became part of the Aeolian-American group, which used the name until the 1980s.
