Vose & Sons

James Whiting Vose began building pianos in Boston in 1851, and the firm took the name Vose & Sons in 1889 when his three sons joined him. It built a new factory in Watertown, Massachusetts, in the 1920s. During the Depression it was absorbed into the Aeolian-American group, which kept making Vose pianos until the early 1980s.
