Schaeffer
The Schaeffer Piano Manufacturing Company was started by German-born William Schaeffer in New York in 1873 and moved to Chicago in 1888. It sold mainly through wholesale and also built pianos sold under other firms' names. In the 1920s it passed to W. F. Frederick's Music House and then to Price & Teeple, and the name was dropped around 1931.
