The Poole Piano Company was founded in Boston in 1893 by William H. Poole and incorporated in 1917 by his son Ava W. Poole, with a factory in Cambridge. It worked closely with Ivers & Pond, sharing craftsmen and facilities. The name later passed to Aeolian, which made Poole pianos until the early 1980s.
