Kurtzmann

Kurtzmann was founded in Buffalo, New York, in 1848 by Christian Kurtzmann, a piano maker from Mecklenburg, Germany, who worked for a time in partnership as Kurtzmann & Hinze. After his death in 1886 the firm continued under his son Louis and was incorporated as C. Kurtzmann & Co. in 1901. Wurlitzer bought it in 1935 and ended production in 1938.
