Marshall & Wendell

Marshall & Wendell grew out of Marshall & Traver, an Albany, New York piano dealer, which began building its own pianos in 1853 and took the Marshall & Wendell name in 1868. It moved to Rochester in 1900 and was known for ornate art-case pianos, many fitted with the Ampico reproducing mechanism. Aeolian absorbed it during the Depression and used the name into the 1950s.
