Knight Alfred

Alfred Knight founded his own piano company in London in 1935 after a few years in the firm Booker & Knight, and moved it to a new factory in Loughton, Essex, in 1955. It built mainly uprights, such as the K10. After Knight died in 1974, the name passed to Bentley and then to Whelpdale, Maxwell & Codd, makers of Welmar, which closed in 2003.
