Heintzman & Co.

Heintzman & Co. was founded in Toronto by Berlin-born piano maker Theodor August Heintzman and incorporated in 1866; by the 1890s its factory in the Junction had about 200 workers making some 1,000 pianos a year. Production moved to Hanover, Ontario, in 1978 and the Canadian firm was sold in the 1980s. The name is now used on pianos made in China.
