Lessing was a brand of upright and player pianos made and marketed by the Smith, Barnes & Strohber Co. of Chicago, a firm formed by a 1906 merger. Lessing uprights were sold widely in the early 1900s, including in Canada and Alaska, and serial records run from 1900 to 1927.
