Bush & Lane began in Chicago in 1901 as the Victor Piano and Organ Company and moved to a new factory in Holland, Michigan, in 1905. It made uprights, grands and player pianos, including the Cecilian line, and employed about 350 people at its peak. After Walter Lane died in 1928 and the Depression hit, the firm went bankrupt around 1930.
