Bradbury

Bradbury pianos go back to an 1854 New York partnership of Lighte, Newton & Bradbury, backed by the hymn composer William B. Bradbury. After Bradbury's death in 1868 the business passed to his superintendent Freeborn G. Smith, whose family ran it for decades. W. P. Haines took control in the 1920s, Winter & Co. later absorbed both names, and Aeolian built Bradbury pianos after 1960.
