Schimmel Wilhelm
Schimmel was founded by Wilhelm Schimmel in Leipzig in 1885 and later moved to Braunschweig, where it still builds its Konzert and Classic models. The family ran the firm for four generations, and in 1951 it showed one of the first clear acrylic grand pianos. Since 2016 the Chinese Pearl River group has held a majority stake.
