Mathushek

Mathushek was a piano firm set up in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1866 with the German-born inventor Frederick Mathushek as its head. It was known for square grands such as the small Colibri and for Mathushek's scale and overstringing ideas. Jacob Brothers later took control, moved the work to New York City, and kept the name on pianos, including spinet grands, into the 1950s.
